This past weekend Brian and I flew up to Allentown to be with his family for a baby shower. Joyce (Pop's lady friend!) was kind enough to host a shower along with Brian's father. They both really went all out for us and our little bundle of joy and we cant thank them enough! Brian and I enjoyed spending time with family; Brian was able to see aunts and cousins he had not seen in a while and I was able to meet some family members for the first time. Brian's grandfather also made a trip down which was very nice! We did have a little surprise while we were there-Meghan (Brian's cousin) had her baby boy at 1:44pm on Saturday. We were lucky enough to visit the new mom and baby Nathan before we left-and he is very cute! Thank you to all the family and friends that made the trip down to Allentown to share this special time with us-we love you all and cant wait to get everyone together again soon!

3D/4D ultrasound
This past Saturday we were able to go and have a 3D/4D ultrasound done down in Charlotte. Thayne ended up being a little camera shy and hiding behind his one arm and the placenta so the pics are not as very clear as they should be, but I am heading back on Tuesday to see if he will be more awake! We also have a DVD but I have yet to figure out how to convert the footage into a format that Google/you tube will recognize in order to upload the video to this blog...any ideas are appreciated! Our little boy is very cute and has his father's nose, forehead, and hair (I was bald till I was two so he didnt get the hair from me). We cant wait to meet him in person in a 10 weeks!!! Enjoy the photos

Winter Storm 2009
So that title may be a little dramatic...but it is the South and we dont do snow. The storm hit with lots of rain Saturday morning, and then around 5pm Sunday it turned into that ugly white stuff. If you cant tell-I hate snow...blame it on the fact that I was raised in the desert.

The furniture has arrived!!!!
Well despite being admitted to the hospital yet again this past Wednesday night (they now think we are dealing with kidney stones so it is hit and miss right now with the pain)-there is a silver lining!
Our nursery furniture arrived Friday afternoon, and it is beautiful! After making Brian and Corinne move it several times I finally settled on a layout. It looks great in the room, and it will look even better once I finish decorating it! It is crazy to think a little tiny baby will sleep in that big crib soon....we cant wait!

My weekend in the ER
This weekend was full of excitement and fear. Saturday I headed out to coach mu U12 soccer game around 10AM and found that I had a severe pain in my right side. I chalked it up to Thayne having his foot stuck somewhere he shouldnt, but as the game wrapped up and I drove home the pain never let up. I met Brian for lunch but after about an hour I decided I couldnt take it and we needed to head home. On the way home I decided we needed to head to the ER and error on the side of caution. I was admitted to OB triage who then admitted me to OB ER. After a few polks and an exam by the midwife on call they decided to call by OB in for a consult. My symptoms were confusing-some showed signs with appendicitis, and others pointed to kidney stones. My OB decided we needed to contact a surgeon and have an ultrasound to rule anything out. After meeting with the surgeon our options were more then confusing...since they were not 100% sure it was my appendix they couldnt be convinced removing it would relive my pain. Surgery poses a risk to the baby bc there is no way to monitor him during the procedure, and it can cause pre term labor. Not doing surgery and taking a chance that my appendix ruptures is an even greater risk since the infection would most likely cause me to miscarry. After weighing all the options we decided it was best to have my appendix taking out and take the risk of surgery.
So about 9:30 EST last night I was prepped and wheeled into the OR...30 min later I was back and down one organ. The surgery went well and was able to be done laposcopically (sp)which means they didnt need to cut in-instead I have three small holes in my stomach as entry points. Thayne was a trooper...his heart rate and blood pressure stayed normal through out the night-and became as active as possible once the anesthesia wore off. It is a true blessing that we had no complications-and for the most part we are out of the woods for pre term labor. The surgeon said that my appendix looked normal upon removal...but we are still waiting on the pathology report (which will be complete later this week...prob wed) for final results.
I sit here now posting this blog from my hospital bed where I have spent the last 36 hours recovering. I am no longer in pain, just some discomfort and soreness from the procedure. Thank you to all our family and friends who have called and stopped by to check on me, the baby, and Brian...we really appreciate it. I should be dismissed tomorrow and will spend the rest of the week healing. I am very thankful that God watched over me and my son during this time...and will forever count my blessings. The silver lining I guess is that I will have a really cool story to tell Thayne when he is older!!!

28 weeks and counting....
Here are the latest belly pics!!! It is so crazy to see how it has changed over the last few months...no wonder I feel so heavy! Everything is going well...the last check up we both got high marks and it turns out my weight is just fine (that nurse didnt know what she was talking about!). We have 12 more weeks...and we are both so excited to meet him. I will start going to OB apts every two weeks now so we will have another check up on March 5th. In the meantime we are in the midst of interviewing Pediatricians in the area.
